36th National Games


Gujarat being the host state for the 36th National Games is all set to welcome and greet the players and guests for the event. The 2022 National Games of India will be held in Gujarat from September 29 to October 12, 2022. India’s prestigious multi-event sporting showcase returns after a gap of seven years.  In the history of Gujarat, the 36th National Games marked a great opportunity to lead the biggest sports event in which around 7000 players from all states will participate. This is indeed a proud moment for the state.  

The National Games will be held across six cities of Gujarat — Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot and Bhavnagar. After a wait of 5 years, the National Games are going to be held, Gujarat is excited for the event by prepping up in a remarkable period of just 3 months.

SPORTS CARNIVAL

As part of raising awareness about the National Games, a "Sports Carnival" was held in each of the six host cities: Ahmedabad,Surat,Rajkot,Vadodra,Gandhinagar, and Bhavnagar, and it was a huge success, engaging a large number of citizens.Sports demonstrations,mascot interactions,cultural performances,marathons,bus parades, and student marches are held as a part of National Games awareness. The event was productive as everyone participated with curiosity about games. The active participation of the people shows how much they are excited to witness the 36th National Games organised in Gujarat.

The 36th National Games will be held in Gujarat for the first time ever. Prior to the start of the National Games, a programme of school and college activation was held in which people of all ages participated enthusiastically.The event included activities like tug of war, sack race, and sitolia; sharing laughter and spreading joy, which engaged more people and curious children of today who haven't played such games. More than 50 lakh students,teachers,and members of the local community from 33,000 schools and 2500 colleges across the state have actively participated and discovered the joy of childhood while playing indigenous games.
